About
I'm Cezar Rata, a full-stack engineer, founder, and creative. I care most about building high-impact, customer-facing products where I have full creative and technical control.
Tennis
I started playing tennis at a young age and eventually reached the top 500 in the world in juniors, competing against players like Jannik Sinner. The sport taught me discipline, mental toughness, and how to perform under pressure. Those lessons carried into everything I've done since.
Education
I studied Computer Science at the University of Arizona. I graduated with a 2.4 GPA, not because I couldn't do the work, but because I was busy building other things. The classroom was never where I learned best.
Amazon & AWS
I completed two internships at Amazon Retail and received a return full-time offer to AWS straight out of college. I spent 1.5 years on the Bottlerocket and Container Runtime teams, working on infrastructure that powers some of the largest cloud workloads in the world. I received an 'Exceeds High Bar' rating my first year, and then left to build my own things.
Poker & Trading
In college, I started playing poker seriously, traveling to Vegas every few weeks to play 1/3 at the Aria. What started out as a fun hobby with friends turned into my source of income. Poker taught me how to make decisions under uncertainty, manage risk, and think in probabilities. Those same principles carried into trading, markets, and how I approach decision making in everything I do.
Music
I produce and DJ house music under CEZAR. Music is the opposite of engineering, less systems, more feel. Having both keeps me balanced.
Now
Today I'm building products under Omnia Technologies. My current focus is a mobile trading app for Hyperliquid and a music platform for DJs and producers. I left a comfortable job at AWS because the opportunity cost of staying exceeded the salary.
